A TYPICAL ROOM IN A POST-OP CARE UNIT

• If you are an inpatient, you will be taken to your hospital room.
• If you are an outpatient, you will be taken back to the ambulatory care unit to continue your recovery and get ready for discharge to home. You will not be allowed to drive yourself home. Please pre arrange for someone to drive you safely home.
• You will begin taking fluids and food as you can tolerate them and your intravenous will be removed. The nursing staff will assist you in getting out of bed. You will have assistance in walking to the bathroom and will be encouraged to walk and to breathe deeply.
